_A Few Tips To Improve Your Gameplay as a Paladin
_
Paladins are not as overpowered as they used to be, and at the moment they're far from being the 3 buttons class that used to raze everything in front of them. In fact, a paladin nowadays isn't that easy to play, if of course, you want to play it a pro level.
Here are some tips regarding macros and WoW keybindings for a paladin that you must know, if you want to bring your gameplay to a superior level.
1. If you play Retribution, bind your Judgement on key 1. Having it bound on some other key, is a mistake. That's the ability that you must hit first when the fight starts, especially in PvP. And don't forget to train 2 points in Long Arm of the Law, so that your Judgement will grant you 45% movement speed for 4 seconds. Running faster than your opponent even if it's for 4 seconds, matter a lot in World of Warcraft.
2. Regardless of what spec you play, you will be needing to change seals from time to time. For example, if you play Retribution, changing Seal of Truth with Seal of Righteousness, will improve your damage dealt. But to avoid clicking buttons, and also to avoid binding your seals in your main bar (you really don't have space for that), it's best to use a macro. Here's an example of one of the WoW macros that I use to change seals. It's pretty easy to write and to use:
/castsequence Seal of Truth,Seal of Righteousness
Hit the macro once, it will buff you with Seal of Truth, hit it the second time, it will buff you with Seal of Righteousness, and so on. This macro saves a slot in your bar, and makes the seal exchange much more comfortable.
3. The first tip here concerned the binding of your Judgement on key 1 for a Retribution paladin. I would also like to add here, the fact that on the keys from 1 to 6 you should only bind abilities that you use very frequently. These should be:
Judgement, Crusader Strike, Divine Storm, Templar's Verdict, Rebuke, Hammer of Justice. You can swap Divine Storm with Exorcism, but you won't be using Exorcism unless it procs, so I believe that binding it on another key, like D or R would be a better choice.
I can say a lot more about WoW macros and keybindings, about any class. However, you can find plenty of information on this matter and also about a very nice WoW macros and keybindings addon, if you follow one of the links here.
